New to Uros? Create your forum account, read the essential rules and lore, plan your character, and submit your application. This guide covers the steps before acceptance.
1. Create your forum account
Welcome to Uros! This guide takes you from your first visit to submitting your character application and waiting for a decision. You do not need to memorise the whole Wiki.
Start by creating an account on the Uros forums, then sign in. If you already have an account, use that account for your application.
Your route: forum account → rules and setting → character concept → application → staff review.
2. Read the rules and understand the setting
Read the Server Rules and A Roleplay Introduction before writing your application. The application includes a roleplay knowledge check; answer it in your own words.
Start your setting reading with Geography of Uros and The Fading. These introduce the world and the circumstances behind migration to the new lands.
Player knowledge is different from character knowledge. Reading a lore page does not mean your character knows everything on it. Use their background and experiences to guide what they know.
3. Choose your race and explore its lore
Start with the page for the Race you want to play. These introductions are signposts; the full articles provide the details for your background and roleplay.
- Humans of Astrya — people from a varied ancestral High Kingdom, with many regional cultures.
- Elfin of Elyiore — long-lived race whose culture is rooted in Elyiore and the Mother Tree.
- Grokon of Dol’Barr — subterranean folk with traditions of stonecraft, forging, and memory walls.
- Turuk of Magra — hardy folk of Magra, with a strong focus on their Clanz and contribution to the community.
- The Elthari — woodland kin of the Elfin, shaped by life beneath Elyiore’s deep canopy.
- The Merrinfolk — the quiet folk of Merrinvale.
- The Yakuma— an alternative human culture
4. Prepare your character application
Use the lore for your chosen race and background to plan a character with a personality, a believable history, strengths, flaws and a reason to take part in the world. You can browse the forums for further lore and player stories; ask staff if sources conflict or you are unsure whether an idea fits.
The current application asks for:
- Your Minecraft username and actual Discord username, plus where you heard about Uros. There is also a timezone field.
- Answers to the roleplay knowledge check.
- Your character’s name, race and relevant subrace, gender, age and personality traits.
- A backstory of at least two paragraphs.
- A character skin as a PNG, 64×64 or 64×32, no larger than 256 KB.
Read the form’s instructions as you complete it. You can consult the example application for guidance on presentation, while writing your own character and answers.
5. Submit your application
Open Applications from Apply → Member in the forum menu, then choose New Application.
Complete the form, upload your skin and check your answers. Read the linked Server Rules and Terms before confirming the agreement on the form.
Save Draft lets you keep work in progress. When it is ready for staff to review, choose Submit Application. Saving a draft is not the same as submitting it.
The optional Forum Character Profile is separate from this application. Posting a profile does not replace the application or grant server access.
6. Follow your review and wait for acceptance
Return to My Dashboard to check your application’s status and open it to read staff feedback. If amendments are requested, follow the reviewer’s instructions and ask for clarification if needed.
The Application Team handles applications. While that team is unstaffed, Reegs and Didds are covering reviews.
Submitting an application is not acceptance. Wait for the decision. Minecraft whitelisting is currently completed manually by staff after acceptance.
