The World of Uros is formed from great stretches of land divided by vast seas, with its peoples, kingdoms and cultures spread across distant shores. The two principal geographical areas known to the peoples of Uros are Athosia and the lands collectively known as Umbria, separated by the immense waters of the Great Expanse.
Athosia
Athosia is one of the great continents of Uros and is the land historically referred to in many records as the Old Lands.
It is home to numerous realms, peoples and settlements whose histories stretch far back into the recorded past of Uros.
Older writings may continue to use the name Old Lands when referring to Athosia, particularly when describing historical events or the perspective of those who lived during them.
The Great Expanse
Between Athosia and the distant lands of Umbria lies the Great Expanse, a vast body of water separating the two parts of the known world.
Crossing the Expanse has allowed peoples, goods and knowledge to travel between distant shores, though its immense scale has long kept the lands on either side geographically distinct.
Umbria
Umbria is the geographical name given collectively to the great landmasses found beyond the Great Expanse.
Unlike Athosia, Umbria does not describe a single continuous continent. Its lands are divided across multiple large landmasses, islands and coastal regions, each with their own geography, settlements and histories.
Among these is Alphos, a small island peninsula lying close to one of Umbria's principal landmasses.
Exploring the World
The Geography of Uros extends far beyond its largest lands. Across Athosia and Umbria can be found kingdoms, regions, cities, villages, forests, mountains, rivers, islands and countless other locations.
These places form the wider World of Uros, and their individual pages explore their geography, inhabitants, history and place within the world.
