This guide will help you join a region/settlement and how to set up a settlement region.
What is a region
In the World of Uros, we have territories, claims and independent settlements.
Territories: Larger parent claims that a kingdom will use to identify their whole land.
Child claims: Used to define the towns and capitals within.
Independent settlements: Claims outside of territories not associated. Eg a trading circus or a monk town.
The main feature you’ll be using region-wise is to apply for settlements, or if you become a steward, you’ll have more access to region options.
How to apply to a region
When you first arrive in the World of Uros, you’ll want to find a place to call home. Once you feel like you’ve found the right place to settle down, you can apply for citizenship at the region's lectern; this is normally located in a town hall.
Right-click the lectern and click on the green arrow called “Apply to Join”; you’ll then be asked two questions for your character to answer.
Or if you can’t find the region lectern, you can do /apply or /ur apply <region name> whilst standing in the area you wish to join.

Accepted Resident
After being accepted to the region and hopefully having a place to call home, you won’t need to use the region lectern again!
If there is a tax for members on the region in RP, the region steward/manager will explain how much the tax is and how often it will be taken from your bank account.
Region Roles
Regions have their own rank system; the following explains each one and what they grant.
Member: Added to the region but can’t break or place blocks in the region.
Farmer: Can only break crops and plant seeds. Can’t break or place other blocks anywhere in the region.
Builder: Can break and place blocks anywhere in the region.
Manager: Can break and place blocks anywhere in the region. Has access to the region lectern options such as:
- Claim upkeep cost
Taxes
Manage Members
Claim Settings
View Region Applications
Steward: Has full access to the region options like the Manager role.
You can read a full description of each option in the next section!
Region Options
Claim Upkeep Cost:
The claim upkeep cost is the amount it costs to keep the region going. This can be set by either territory leaders for child claims or the Uros Staff Team can set the cost for independent settlements. You can see on the bank icon of the GUI when the payment will automatically be taken out of the Claim Treasury. The region Owner and stewards will get notified if there are insufficient funds in the region bank account.

Claim Treasury:
Only the region owner can access the Claim Treasury. They’ll only be able to deal with the finances of the region.
Manage Members:
Region Owners, Stewards and Managers are able to change region members' roles and, if need be, remove members from the region. Owners, Stewards and Managers can also change whether a member gets taxed or not.

Claim Settings:
Region claim settings can be modified by the region owner, steward or manager with a click of the mouse!

Region Applications:
Region owners, Stewards, and Managers have access to accept or deny a player's application to the region.
Manage Claim Lectern:
Region owners are the only members of the region who can move the lectern to a new position
Creating a Child Claim:
To create a child claim of a territory, you’ll need to be the owner of the territory. Go to the territory lectern and shift-right-click, then click on Manage Child Claims

Now click on the Grant Child Land Button

You’ll then be given a paper called “Claim Survey Deed”.
To start, right-click a block to start the land selection; you’ll see particles around you outlining the wild tile you’ve selected.
You’ll then select each wild tile from that for the child claim area by right-clicking the wild tiles.
You can check what wild tile you’re standing in by left-clicking a block.
Once you have selected the area, it should look something like this:

To confirm the area, shift-right-click the ground whilst holding the “Claim Survey Deed Paper”
The GUI will pop up; next you’ll have to create the name of the Child Region.

Then, if all wild tiles have been selected correctly a big green tick will show in the GUI called “Confirm Creation”; click that, and your child region will be created!
You’ll then be given the Region Claim Lectern, where you can place it down anywhere within the claim for players to apply for region membership.
