The Kingdom of Astrya
Homeland of humankind
“The Crown endures, even unseen.”
Astrya is the ancestral homeland of the Human race a vast High Kingdom whose banners once flew united beneath a single sovereign will. It is a land of mountains and river valleys, of fertile plains and storm-beaten coasts. From its halls, rose explorers, conquerors, scholars and kings. Astrya is not merely a kingdom... It is the High Kingdom of Men.
The High Crown of Astrya
At the pinnacle of Astryan authority stands the High King of
House Windmere
The High King is:
- Sovereign of all Astrya
- Overlord of the Regional Kings
- Source of all noble legitimacy
- Keeper of the High Throne in Windell
All titles, lands, and crowns trace their authority to this ancient royal house. Though the present whereabouts of House Windmere are unknown, the Crown has never been declared lost, no rival High King has been named and so the realm waits.

The Three Realms of Astrya
Though united beneath one High Crown, Astrya is divided into three great domains.
The Northern Kingdom
Capital: Frostholm
The Northern Kingdom rises among mountain ranges and frost-touched highlands. Its lands are harsh and beautiful the stone citadels carved into ridgelines, valleys guarded by iron gates, banners snapping in cold winds. The mountains themselves belong to the North.
Northern culture is defined by:
- Martial discipline
- Honour-bound traditions
- Defensive strength
- Endurance against hardship
Its kings were once warlords and sovereign rulers who bent the knee to the High Crown, yet retained their authority under Astryan supremacy.
The North provides steel, soldiers, and strength.

The Crownlands of Windell
Capital: Windell
At the heart of Astrya lies Windell, seat of the High Throne.
The Crownlands are fertile and central, carved by a great river that binds North and South alike. Windell stands not merely as a city but as the political and judicial heart of the realm, from its halls are issued decrees, charters, and titles that shape the fate of all Human lands.
The Crownlands are:
- Directly held by the High Crown
- Neutral between regional powers
- The administrative soul of Astrya
Here, the High King reigns above all other kings.

The Southern Kingdom
Capital: Caldris
The Southern Kingdom stretches across warm coasts and golden lowlands "Where the North is iron, the South is coin"
Caldris commands trade routes and naval strength. Its ports welcome merchants, envoys, and ships from distant shores.
Southern culture is shaped by:
- Commerce and diplomacy
- Maritime influence
- Wealth and ambition
- Political cunning
Some Southern kings were elevated nobles, others conquered sovereigns permitted to retain their crowns under Astryan law.
The South provides ships, gold, and influence.

Nobility of Astrya
All noble authority flows from the High Crown.
The great ranks of Astrya include:
- Dukes and Duchesses
- Marquesses and Marchionesses
- Counts and Earls
- Viscounts
- Barons
No house may claim nobility without lawful recognition.
Titles are granted... not taken lightly.
Yet history has shown that power, when defended and recognised, may carve its own legitimacy.

The Present State of the Realm
The High Crown remains rightful.
The Regional Kings remain bound by oath, yet the absence of visible royal authority has stirred quiet questions across the land.
"Some wait faithfully"
"Some grow ambitious"
"Some whisper that crowns may rise where power is strong enough to hold them"
Whether Astrya stands united beneath its unseen High King, or fractures into rival thrones…remains to be written in the pages of history.
