Character Details

Full Character NameSeth the Serpent
RaceHuman
GenderMale
Age45

Seth keeps moving — never stays in one place too long, he enjoys drink and company — especially women who often like to hear about his adventures.

Trained by years of naval fighting, skilled with a sword, especially in close spaces, he doen't mind using feints, low cuts and suprise attacks. Knows when to retreat to live and fight another day.
Backstory
Seth grew up in Astrya and spent most of his life on ships. The sea was all he really knew. He joined the King’s Fleet young and stayed in it for years, long enough to earn scars, calluses, and a solid reputation as a capable sailor and swordsman.

When the Fading spread and the Great Exodus began, Seth was still in the fleet. His ship was assigned to one of the many crossings, ferrying people, supplies, and “cargo” to safety. Not all of that cargo was willing. During one of those voyages, Seth saw things he couldn’t ignore anymore. Slaves were packed below deck to save space. Sick people were thrown overboard to keep schedules. Guards followed orders without question. Officers spoke of lives like numbers on a page.

Seth tried to look away at first. Most sailors did. But during a night crossing, things went too far. A group of chained people were left to drown during a storm to lighten the ship. Seth snapped. He cut the locks, started a fight, and chaos followed. He took a blade across the face in that fight, leaving a long scar over his right eye. Chaos ensued and blood filled the deck. By morning, several prisoners were gone, a few sailors were dead, and Seth vanished. The fleet listed him as killed during the mutiny.

In truth, Seth cut his hair, burned his old papers, and took a new name. Some people might still recognize him, but only barely — the way he stands, the way he grips a sword, the way he moves without thinking. Only someone who served with him closely would ever notice, and even then, they’d have to look twice. The name “The Serpent” followed him later. He doesn’t fight fair. He waits, strikes fast, and uses lies, tricks, and fear when needed. Like a snake, he survives by being smarter, not louder.

Now Seth lives free of flags and crowns. He works when he wants, fights when he must, and refuses to be owned again — by kings, causes, or men who think chains are order - and the new land seems like a good opportunity to do just that.
