When Dark was a child, he lived with his father, never knowing who his mother was. His father was a horrible person, treating him horribly and causing Dark to fend for himself. Most nights he slept outside, fearing what the night hid in the shadows. Eventually, however, he grew comfortable with the outdoors and the darkness the night brought. Once he was 15, he decided he'd had enough of his father and left home, wandering around and trying to survive however he could. At the first chance he got, he decided to change his name to Dark, as the night and darkness it brought was the only thing he could consider family. Living in the wilderness, he had some close calls with animals and other humans. The first time he was almost killed by humans, Dark tried to peacefully resolve the minor conflict. It didn't work out sadly, and he was forced to take some lives. Oddly enough to him, he fought as if it was second nature to him. From then on, he preferred to try and dissolve conflict without bloodshed, but if push came to shove, he wouldn't hesitate. Fast-forwarding to now, Dark has decided that living in the wilderness won't be safe going forward. He now travels place to place, sleeping wherever offers shelter. This hasn't made him any more trusting, and he actively avoids contact with others, fearing they might have an ulterior motive.
