Tal’kamar is a 70-year-old Elfin whose youth was cut short by the onset of the Fading. While other families fled early, his family stubbornly stayed behind to protect their ancestral groves. This prolonged exposure left him with a pale ashen complexion, but tragically, the decay ultimately claimed his entire family.Since arriving in the new lands, Tal struggles with settling down and has had immense trouble rebuilding a family. Whenever he gets too close to a new community, panic sets in; terrified of repeating the painful past and losing people all over again, he runs away and reverts to the safety of nature. Tal developed a strong desire to observe and understand the Fading's functions, believing that unlocking its mechanics is the true path toward protecting nature and others in the future.
