Martin Thalassar was born the younger brother of Constantine and the twin brother of Helen. He grew up in a family that had moved away from the old ways of the sea-lords, trading them for the manners and expectations of nobility. From an early age, he was more interested in ships, the sea, and learning to fight than in courtly life. He was quick to react when trouble started and sometimes moved before anyone else had finished thinking, but he was not reckless. Martin had a sharp tactical mind and understood positioning, timing, and when to wait.

As he grew older, Martin became a knight and one of Breakwater’s strongest martial figures. His instincts made him a reliable protector of the Thalassari, especially when things became violent or unpredictable. He acts as both shield and sword for his family, carrying the traditions of the old sea-lords into a time when the Thalassari have to hide their strength behind noble manners. Martin understands that diplomacy has its place, but he has never had much patience for words once they stop being useful.
