Backstory
Ferrion Voil was born within House Gloomhold and since youngest years he was taught about history, ways and esoteric research of Cantanite conducted by his familly. He spent countless hours learning art of crafting, carving and the most importantly observing and documenting strange mineral under eye of his grandfather, an ancient Grokon named Morak Voil. It was him who introduced within mind of Ferrion idea that crystals of Cantanite are likely to have properties allowing to use them to create things unimaginable by races of surface world. These young years made him fascinated by nature of this mineral and he dedicated huge part of his future life towards continuing his family's legacy of studying it.
Over time of many experiments with crystals he was tasked to keep and study, he eventually came to very interesting conclusions. Essentially, crystals according to his research could possess some kind of will, even if it was scattered between each node. Another observation was that crystals were able to store inside themselves small part of energy produced nearby them, enhancing their song. Basing on these discoveries, supported by studies of his ancestors he formed an theory of "Cantanite Animus", essentially idea that this mineral has potential to become concious or even possess a soul on its own. He also claimed that if prepared and compacted well enough, Cantanite could become base for autonomic constructs which if trained and charged could possibly become great assistance for ranks of Grokon. He even presented these revelations to elders of great clans, in hope to gain their favour and possibly more resources to continue his work. His ideas sparked a long discussions between elder Grokons with some being deeply fascinated by possibilities which futher study would give them with others fearing that use of so deeply unstable material might be dangerous. Ultimately however they managed to agree and granted Ferrion access to many vaults containing Cantanite so he would be able to continue his study under careful sight of more experienced scholars.
When The Fading came however, Ferrion was forced to abaddon his old home and workshop he used to studying mysterious crystals and with other like-minded Grokon went to new land when it become clear that they will not survive in their ancestors' halls. Gúldir became a new home for him and new base for his research. Now he still works tho towards his old goals came now another, to try to stop The Fading and reclaim his old home via his research and if gods allow it, new inventions of Cantanite.
