Backstory
Fenna Brushtail was born among one of the Elthari woodland circles deep within the forests of Elyiore. From an early age, she found more joy wandering the trails than remaining in camp, often accompanying older scouts as they checked hunting paths, marked safe crossings, and learned the rhythms of the forest. The elders taught that every tree, stream, and creature had its place within the greater balance of the woods, and Fenna took those lessons to heart. Rather than seeking recognition, she became known for her patience, keen eye, and habit of noticing the small details others overlooked. As she grew older, she earned the trust of her clan by guiding travelers through dense woodland, gathering herbs, and recording landmarks so others could travel safely after her.
When the Fading reached Elyiore, Fenna witnessed the slow silence that settled over the forests she had spent her life exploring. Familiar trails led to lifeless groves, ancient trees lost their color, and the songs of birds became fewer with each passing season. Leaving her homeland was the hardest choice she had ever faced, but like many Elthari, she understood that preserving her people was more important than clinging to a dying land. She traveled with those carrying the Mother Tree sapling across the Great Sea, offering her skills as a scout and guide throughout the journey. Upon arriving in Alphos, she felt hope for the first time in many months. The forests were alive, unfamiliar, and full of promise.
Now settled near The Grove, Fenna has dedicated herself to learning every corner of Alphos. She spends much of her time walking forgotten trails, mapping the landscape, discovering safe routes between settlements, and quietly observing the island's wildlife. Though cautious around the island's unexplained ruins and strange places, she believes that understanding the land is the first step toward protecting it. Fenna hopes that, through patience, cooperation, and careful exploration, the people of Umbria can build a future where the mistakes and losses of the Old Lands are remembered—but never repeated.
