Oberon was born into a noble house of a small backwater settlement. When the settlement was raided by bandits, everyone but him was killed. He only survived because someone put him in a basket and placed it into a boat and sent it downstream, away from the carnage. He doesn’t know who put him in the boat nor where the settlement was before it was annihilated

For several days Oberon floated until the boat made landfall at a riverbank, whereupon he was discovered by a kind Elderly woman who became his guardian. She raised him as if she were her own son, as she never had kids of her own. She taught him everything he knew from combat to survival skills in the wilderness.
When she died, her land was repossessed leaving Oberon homeless but now armed with the knowledge she gave him. He now makes his way through the world, looking for a place to call home.
